Stage 0 · For anyone
The Change Course
You've been trying to change something. This is where you find out what's actually in the way.
Join the interest listWhat this is
Personal development — not training. You'll work through your own Immunity to Change™ Map on something that truly matters to you.
The Change Course is open to anyone — executives, coaches, educators, nonprofit leaders, parents — who has a goal they've actually been trying to reach and haven't been able to. No background in ITC is required. This isn't a course about the method; it's an experience of working through the process yourself.
Most people arrive here having read the book, heard about ITC from a colleague, or felt something click when they first encountered the idea that resistance to change might be hidden — and closer to home than they'd realized. The Change Course is where that recognition becomes something you can actually work with.

What you'll do
Six weeks, one complete Immunity to Change™ Map.
Week 1
Name your goal
Identify a goal that truly matters to you — something important, that you've held for a while and haven't been able to sustain.
Week 2
Surface the behaviors working against it
Map the ways you keep getting in your own way — the things you do (or don't do) that undermine the very change you want.
Week 3
Discover a competing commitment
Beneath the surface behaviors is something you're also trying to protect. This week you'll find what that is — and why it makes sense.
Week 4
Uncover the big assumption
Underneath the competing commitment is a belief so deeply held it doesn't feel like a belief — it feels like reality. You'll name it here.
Week 5
Design an experiment
Design a small, safe-to-fail experiment that puts your big assumption to the test — without requiring you to abandon the protection it provides.
Week 6
Reflect and integrate
Review what your experiment revealed. See your Immunity to Change™ Map with fresh eyes. Understand what's changed — and what becomes possible from here.
What participants say
“When I first started, I was a bit skeptical about how I would actually change. Looking back at myself weeks ago and comparing it with how I am now is incredible. I couldn't be happier that I decided to take this course and learn a new approach to change.”
Course participant
“I appreciated the opportunity to feel like I was part of a bigger community striving to grow and improve. This made me want to constantly push myself because I believed in the power behind the material and in the power of being part of a community working toward similar goals.”
Course participant
“This has been an amazing course and I have made long-lasting changes that I didn't even dream about when I began. There is no way to express my deepest thank you for that — my life is changed.”

Where it leads
The map is a beginning. What you do with it is the real work.
If you want to bring ITC to others
The most natural next step for coaches and facilitators is the ITC Facilitator's Workshop — a three-day intensive that teaches you to guide others through the Immunity to Change™ Map process. The Change Course gives you the experience; the ITC Facilitator's Workshop gives you the methodology.
ITC Facilitator's Workshop →If you want to go deeper into the theory
The Immunity to Change™ Map is built on a larger framework — Kegan and Lahey's theory of how adults grow in complexity of mind throughout their lives. Our Introduction to Adult Development Theory program is where that foundation gets laid.
Introduction to Adult Development Theory →If you want to keep working your own map
The Change Course ends with one experiment — but running experiments to test your big assumptions is its own discipline, and most people find the map reveals more than six weeks can fully address. We're developing a follow-on program focused specifically on that ongoing work.
