About the course
What is Immunity to Change: Foundations to Application?+
Immunity to Change: Foundations to Application is our foundational course for practitioners who want both a strong grounding in the core foundations of Immunity to Change and guided practice applying the framework with others. The course is designed to help participants move from understanding the map conceptually to using it as a diagnostic and intervention tool with greater confidence, rigor, and skill.
Who is this course for?+
This course is for coaches, facilitators, leadership development practitioners, HR, people, and L&D professionals, organizational development practitioners, and others whose work involves helping people take on meaningful change. It is especially well suited to people who want a more disciplined and practical way to support sustained change in the individuals, groups, or organizations they work with.
Structure & Application Modules
How is the course structured?+
The course has two parts. Participants begin with two days of foundational learning focused on the map-making capabilities at the heart of Immunity to Change. Then they continue into a one-day Application Module focused on a specific practice setting. For Fall 2026, the two Application Module options are Groups and 1:1 Coaching.
What is the difference between the Groups Application Module and the 1:1 Coaching Application Module?+
Both modules build on the same shared ITC foundation, but they focus on different facilitation contexts. The 1:1 Coaching module is designed for practitioners who want to use ITC in an ongoing coaching relationship with a single person — it focuses on depth, pacing, precision, and guiding someone through the process of creating a powerful map. The Groups module is designed for practitioners who want to facilitate ITC with multiple individuals in a cohort or workshop setting — it focuses on how to introduce the framework to a room, pace the experience across a group, and manage what surfaces between participants as they work through their immune systems.
Which Application Module should I choose?+
The best module depends on where you expect to use Immunity to Change most often. If most of your work happens in sustained one-on-one relationships, the 1:1 Coaching module is likely the better fit. If your work more often involves cohorts, workshops, or facilitated group learning environments, the Groups module is likely the better fit. Many practitioners choose one module first and return for another over time to deepen their practice.
Do I have to take the full three-day experience all at once?+
No. You may take the full three-day experience as a single contiguous offering, or complete the two days of core theory first and return later for the Application Module most relevant to your work. We designed the course this way to give practitioners more flexibility while still preserving a shared foundation in the core material.
What is the difference between Groups and Teams?+
Groups and Teams involve different kinds of facilitation challenges. In the Groups setting, participants work on their own maps in a shared cohort or workshop environment — the facilitator helps multiple individuals move through the map-making process simultaneously, leveraging peer-to-peer discussion to achieve depth. In the Teams setting, the work shifts toward collective patterns, shared competing commitments, and group-level dynamics. The task is not simply to help multiple individuals at once, but to help a team work with its shared system.
Prerequisites & past participants
I attended the Facilitators’ Workshop and/or ITC for 1:1 Coaching. How does the new offering compare?+
This new offering brings together and builds on what were previously the Facilitators’ Workshop and ITC for 1:1 Coaching. Rather than continuing to offer those as separate experiences, we now provide one shared foundation in the core map-making work, then turn toward application in distinct practice settings. We believe this is a clearer, more integrated, and more flexible path. If you have already completed the Facilitators’ Workshop or ITC for 1:1 Coaching, you are qualified to attend a standalone Application Module. You are also welcome to repeat the full course if you would like a refresher on the core theory.
Can I take only an Application Module?+
Yes, if you have already completed one of the following:
- —The Facilitators’ Workshop
- —ITC for 1:1 Coaching
- —The Core Theory portion of Immunity to Change: Foundations to Application
If you are unsure whether your prior experience qualifies, please reach out — we’re glad to help you figure it out.
Can I take more than one Application Module over time?+
Yes. In fact, we expect that many practitioners will do exactly that. The Application Modules are designed to help you deepen your practice across multiple facilitation contexts without needing to repeat the underlying theory each time.
Next steps & related programs
What if I am mainly interested in Team facilitation?+
ITC with Teams remains a separate offering, building on capabilities developed first in one-on-one and/or group contexts. For that reason, practitioners are required to complete Immunity to Change: Foundations to Application, the Facilitators’ Workshop, or ITC for 1:1 Coaching before enrolling. For Fall 2026, ITC with Teams will run as a two half-day experience on November 19–20.
What comes after Immunity to Change: Foundations to Application?+
There are several possible next steps, depending on your interests. Participants may return for additional Application Modules over time. Others continue into ITC with Teams, deepen their theoretical grounding through the Adult Development Theory workshop or SOI Training, pursue the Qualified ITC Map Facilitator credential, or eventually move toward the Coach Certification Program. This course is designed to open the door into a broader pathway of practice and development.
